This is either true or someone's sick plan to rid the roads of automobiles, as well as people:biggrin_2551: If it's a hoax I think I should get a medal for being the most stupid newbie of the day, or week, month, year, for even asking:biggrin_2552:

    Interesting tip for rainstorms

Haven't tried this yet, but it is worth a try! I hate driving in the rain at night. How to achieve good vision while driving during a heavy downpour. We are not sure why it is so effective just try this method when it rains heavily. This method was told by a Police friend who had experienced and confirmed it. It is useful...even driving at night. Most of the motorists would turn on HIGH or FASTEST SPEED of the wipers during heavy downpour, yet the visibility in front of the windscreen is still bad......In the event you face such a situation, just try your SUN GLASSES(any model will do), and miracle! All of a sudden, your visibility in front of your windscreen is perfectly clear, as if there is no rain. Make sure you always have a pair of SUN GLASSES in your car, as you are not only helping yourself to drive safely with good vision, but also might save your friend's life by giving him this idea..Try it yourself and share it with your friends! Amazing, you still see the drops on the windshield, but not the sheet of rain falling. You
can see where the rain bounces off the road. It works to eliminate the "blindness" from passing semi's spraying you too. Or the "kickup"if you are following a semi or car in the rain. They ought to teach that little tip in driver's training. It really does work.

There is some truth to it...the polarized lenses that are on most sunglasses remove the glare from the lights.

I wear sunglasses when driving...even in the rain.

I don't normally wear them at night though...but when I worked at a forge shop on 2nd shift I had to wear very dark safety glasses, I drove home afterwards many times with those safety glasses on....and didn't even realize I had them on. (these are prescription safety glasses)

You can see at night with sunglasses on...and see good, if your eyes are adjusted the dark from wearing them. Just putting them on to see if it works will not give the right impression...your eyes won't be adjusted to the dark and you won't be able to see anything.

    My vote is hoax.

Yellow lens can help. But sunglasses...nope. The only thing that's going to help in a heavy mist/spray, is FLIR. And at $15k a pop, most people won't buy it.

A better tip. Take 30 minutes a month to apply RainX to your windshield.

thank you, one of the worst things in driving has always been at night in the rain, even when I was young, and I NEVER heard this ever!! So I would need to maybe where the glasses for a time as it gets dark? Can you see through them at dusk? That is a dangerous time I've found also?

Thanks so much, this is wild!!! Yahooooooo!! A way to beat that night/rain blindness!!!!!!:biggrin_25514:

Me...I don't notice any difference at dusk. Your mileage may vary...so be careful and see how it works for you.

I wear prescription glasses with the clip on sunglasses...so its easy for me to forget that I have the sunglasses on there.

Even better tip, use the RainX washer fluid. It works really really well.

I use that too. But I still do a full app on the front and side windows and the mirrors once a month.

It's nice to run down the road without having to pull over in a downpour.

We use it as well. I do hubbys truck once a month. AND he just bought the rainX wipers, they work much better in combination with the product.

RainX saved our butts one night, when the wiper motor took a dump on us. I don't think that hubby will drive without it now.
