Can I skip the weight stations? f150 w/trailer

    Hello experienced truck drivers, I need your advice in this situation and just wanted to be sure.
    If I pickup a heavy trash roll-off dumpster (3100 lbs) in New Jersey and travel to Maryland, do I need to stop at a weight station if the truck I am using is a ford f150 and the weight of the loaded trailer is under 10K lbs.? Or do I need to stop if the truck + trailer and dumpster is over 10k lbs? This is a one time trip. Thank you in advance

    Do you have a DOT number or is this your dumpster on your trailer towed by your truck?

    If you bought yourself a dumpster and are taking it home, keep the invoice/receipt on you, strap it down well with real, not cheap, straps with the load limit, called WLL, or working load limit printed on the label and just drive home. A loaded 5th wheel RV is heavier than 10k as a combination with the truck towing it. If you manage to get stopped, tell them it’s your own dumpster your taking home. The DOT man may be impressed with your quality straps I mentioned you acquire earlier and send you on your way.
