Now that I have the new tires, I measured everything for starting tread. I measured my trailer tires and in 13 months, the Michelin Multi T Super Singles have used 3/32nds. Started with 16 on those.

it’s on the road. Going to do another sample at 10k miles. Volvo says there is nothing wrong. The people at the dealer I use say the bearings are showing some wear, no fuel dilution, markers for coolant are present, but not enough to be sure, Volvo says they would consider the copper in the oil to be minimal and in the watch category. The thing is, at 284k mikes, copper shouldn’t be in the watch category. I’m going to be working on fast tracking that turd so I can get rid of it, I’m sick of used trucks. Even a low mileage used truck is a nightmare.

I agree. I’m starting to learn the ones they get rid of at 250 to 300k are the turds of the fleet. The rest they let go at 500k before they fall apart.

Maybe in the next 6 months truck prices will be back up enough you can offload it without losing any money.

this trip was 8.72 MPG. 67k to Syracuse, DH to Medina, 75k to Pottsville, short DH to Pittston, 57k to Mt Cobb where I fueled. I had lots of wind from WI all the way to NY where I did a 34 at the TA there East of Buffalo. It was decent until I started heading South and was really windy again until I stopped at the PA/NY border. No wind after that.

Tomorrow is going to be a doozy. It’s a nice load though, NE to Philly, 3 drops, 1500 total miles 4000.00. The 3 drops are all within a few miles of each other. The only problem is that neither of them have docks. It’s all unload on the street. They’re all storefront places. I’ll start at the first one at 0700 and it will probably take until 1500 to be done. Manual unload of 41k of beef. I won’t be unloading, they have the staff, I’ll probably help anyway just to move things along.

Well, it was loaded backwards. Had to turn around and start with the last drop first. I’m barely going to get the last one done before they leave.

I’m glad that’s over. Full 14 hours and only drove a total of 160 miles.

Always something to rain on my parade. I had a wheel seal go out on the driver side steer this time. I’ll bed a new seal as well as new pads, they’re completely soaked. I’m wondering if there’s something more to this. I didn’t think wheel seals went bad that fast? That’s two in 334k miles.
