I agree with you Country, to a point. If it was fun all the time it would be called "play" instead of "work". But the point is that there's work, and then there's inhumane treatment. Expecting me not to idle when it's 104 degrees in the shade in Pheonix, Az is assanine. Nevermind the coleman cooler with my groceries in it. (104-30=74, which turns milk to cheese very fast). Expecting me not to idle when its 5 above 0 is assanine. If you don't want the truck to idle, put a tripak on it, or pay for a hotel room every night. Leave me sit for 72 hours, without a tripak, it's gonna idle for atleast 65 hours.
I'm not a truckstop cowboy. I don't hang out inside truckstops. I hang out in my truck. I mostly don't like other people. Most of the time they're either looking for a free ride at my expense, or they're bigger better fish kinda people (you know, seen it, done it, had it better no matter how you tell it). Can't stand either type.
No trucking Company's left to work for??

Couldn't have expressed it any better myself bud. They'll b!tch at you for idling in the heat/cold, while their fat ### is plopped in an office chair inside a climate controlled building.Does anyone else see the hypocracy in that?

Any real Trucker that has been in the business since 1969 will tell you it has gone to crap! Period! Be very wary of nimrods that claim to be truckers but are recruiters, dispatchers or company goons. That is the only reason someone would say that everything is peachy and just fine. Or that you shouldn't complain and why are you in trucking? Be very very wary of these types of responses. They are not valid.

I idle my tyuck as much as I want to, I pay for the fuel. The company though has never even said two words to me about it. We are living in the trucks when we are out on the road and comfort is important to me.
