You can have a tire fire with any tire. You can have supers wear unevenly as well.. The key to getting the most out of your tires is proper air pressure, and try not to make really sharp turns at shipper and receivers unless you have no choice, especially in the warm weather. As for pulling straight, that has to do with alignment not tires, unless they have worn uneven Also supers run hotter.

Supers are also lighter overall, the combo I'm looking at using being Accuride 42142XPC wheels and Michelin 445/50R22.5 X One XDN2, for four on that truck would be ~960, whereas the factory combo on that truck, Alcoa 882671DB and Michelin X Multi Energy D 11r22.5, would weigh ~1,420 pounds and so that's ~450 pounds off the tare weight and when bobtailing that leads to better fuel economy and when loaded that's more flexibility and more freight that I can move

I get it, as I stated it's just my opinion. But personally to save 450 lbs I don't think it is worth it. Most drivers like me want to haul the lightest possible loads, as you get the best fuel mileage and less wear and tear. But if that's what you want, then by all means get them.

I also prefer lighter loads but I'm not going to complain as long as I'm working tbh, I'm not set on going with super single, I'm just trying to see if the benefits outweigh the downsides.

Just ask a lot of questions, do research, and make informed decisions. People here are trying to help, and possibly save you from making some of the same mistakes as they did. I started my 32nd year in January and I am always learning something new. One important thing to remember is, big trucks big bucks! When you make a mistake in trucking its expensive!

I definitely understand the big money part of trucking, quote I got from the dealership about the VNX outfitted the way I want is ~$164,000 so there's not much in this industry that's cheap.
