I don't remember his screen name; he doesn't post on here any more.
TransAm doesn't have a good reputation because they push lease-purchase.
Stay away from lease-purchase and stay there just long enough to qualify for the company you really want.

I can't believe Schneider and us express aren't
Hiring out of New Jersey.
Nobody wants to drive in New Jersey.
North jersey is not the place to learn how to drive.
Your just asking to hit a low bridge or pay a high
Fine for being caught off of a truck route.
It's high risk for the company no matter what
Your driving.
You might actually be better off in that cement truck
For awhile till you learn your way around.
That way when you miss a turn or get tangled up
Down in Newark somewhere, you'll have a easier
Time getting untangled.
Theres know mercy up for the 18 wheelers.
Any problem is a big problem.
Have fun fighting traffic 24 hours a day.Numb Thanks this. -

Both of those will get you started. Local is tough for new drivers. Lots of tight backs and really fast paced deliveries. OTR with a mega is what it is- but it’s experience and if you’re willing to run, they have the miles.stillwurkin and austinmike Thank this. -
Schneider is hiring students in my area only for hazmat/tanker. Dry van OTR they need at least 3 months experience -

Well fellas, you've tried to help this guy. No experience with a million demands. He says he didn't pay $4500 to do something he don't want to do. While you're holding out for the dream job, or for a job that don't require you to be out with a trainer that long, you could be out here getting experience. These companies arent going to be knocking on your door. At this point, nobody knows what to tell you. With no experience, you better take what you can get
stillwurkin, JGarrick1940 and Dumdriver Thank this. -
Dumdriver Thanks this.

Chinatown Thanks this.

Jeez! You sure have lots of demands! Suck it up and get the required experience. 4-6 weeks with a trainer is not the end of the world. Get the training, spend at least one year with the same company, pick up and deliver on time, DON'T HIT ANYTHING! If and when you accomplish the above tasks, you will be eligible for hire by practically any carrier in the country. Not sure where you hail from, but in this Country, we have to pay our dues. You don't become a brain surgeon straight out of medical school. Good luck!
