If you can drive a 9, you can drive a 10. And like I said a 13 is just a 9 that splits the top gears. A 9 can even be converted to a 13.
dang! Want a diagram of standard shift

I was just looking for a video on a 9. I'll keep looking as I really want to find as much info as I can before attending school. Plus, it will be awhile as I am only going for a class to see if I can get a grant next week. Then who knows
-
if you watch any of the videos for the FR series 10 speeds, it's all the same just one less gear
-
Ok, copy that. Never used a CB in my life, guess television taught me, LOL!!
-
Denise, I can just feel your energy and willingness to learn! Be prepared to learn double clutching when you are in school. clutch - neutral - clutch - gear.
-
-
So is that hold the clutch, put it in neutral, and put it down again and put it in gear? I get confused with that and shifting without using the clutch
Wow, that is the first time I had someone literally tell me what double-clutching is, thank youuuuuuuuuuuuu!! I am thinking double clutching must make it easier on "something" when changing gears?
-
thanks Don
Speak of "old fart" I sure feel like one more every day, LOL!!! There's some good stuff that comes with age though right. I just can't think of anything at the moment
-
Yep, thats double clutching. Does take some getting used to and you need to do it quick enough that your rpms don't drop too low or it won't go into gear. Sometimes when I go to bed at night I lay there and use my left foot and right hand to practice imaginary shifting, lol. What was hard for me to get used to was actually reving up the rpms to slow down. You will probably learn double shifting in school and then when you go otr with your trainer you will learn to float the gears without using the clutch. It doesn't take long to catch on to it. I,m not sure what the purpose of it is. -
Thanks RD, it sure is a blessing to learn some about hese things even before I get the school. I found out yesterday the school has 9 and 13 gear trucks, mostly, a gal in the office told me. Anyway, I am just anxious to get my hands-on training but who knows, I may wind up being just as anxious to get my hands off, LOL
