It takes a truly really unique and special couple to be able to live on a truck for 3 to 4 weeks at a time. I would even say rare. Having been out here for two years now myself, I originally thought of things like that, but now I probably won’t even have a dog with me. I wouldn’t want to do that to the dog. LOL
It’s just too much give-and-take required for two people to be crammed on a truck. I couldn’t do it, no way!86scotty, bigguns, rachi and 1 other person Thank this. -
My wife is my best friend and we spend 24/7 together, all over the country.
Wouldn't want it any other way.
A few years back I had a medical issue that required a 30 day hospital stay and she was right there in the room with me the entire time, taking care of me.. Without her there I probably wouldn't be here today, typing this.

^^^^^. Right there is one of those special couples. Congrats @longhaultransport.
My wife and I can be together 24/7 until we are in the same vehicle. Go figure.Wasted Thyme, 86scotty, longhaultransport and 3 others Thank this. -
Honestly, I think the biggest problem would be that I'm working 8-14 hours. And when I'm done I'd be beat and ready to sleep.
If my wife was just riding, she'd feel like shut down time is together time. I don't know about you but after a hard day driving anything beyond friendly truck stop chat is painful.
If I was running 8 hour days, I could probably make it work but give me a hard 14 or 16 and I don't want to be around anyone. YMMVTexasKGB, Wasted Thyme, gentleroger and 1 other person Thank this. -
It’s not a bad idea at the very least for her to ride along to realize it’s not a picnic. A lot of people think it’s fun like traveling.
Will be less jealousy and more appreciation at home.Wasted Thyme, bigguns and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
I could hang w mama a few weeks, maybe a month.
But back in 2010 I was laid off when she got her walking papers, I had to go looking and finally get back to work.
I love the woman but 24/7 together is just too much.bigguns and Wasted Thyme Thank this. -
My wife and I have been married 30 years. Been together close to 40 years. Since we were 10 years old. I love her to death and don’t like to be away from her. But I am home weekly for 2 days and in the summer she rides with me for a month straight. End of the month we’re ready for a break. Until we get home and then we’re fine. Small space of truck 24/7 is a bit much. We are both OCD and that turns into conflict.

We were together for 5 months when I was OTR, it was a great time. When I had to go to a pickup or delivery that was new she had the best way in plotted out. It was nice when parked food was ready. We would stop at places we wanted to visit and take a LYFT/ Uber to check it out. Problem started when she had to back home it started sucking on the road. Yep I got spoiled. Wasn't a few months later I started the hunt for a direct shipper that would get me home more. Now that I am home most nights the times when I stay out yep she rides. It has worked out great after we figured out the bathroom breaks and the fact that sometimes when I pulled the brakes for the night it was sleep time.
