Kentucky Truck Safety Efforts Target Car AND Truck Drivers

Its about time. I've seen more accidents (actually witnessed) to people not using their blinker to change lanes than i have seen due to speeding alone. While speed is a contributing factor in many crashes i find it hard to believe that it's ever been the main one.

 

I always said if I became a cop, speeding would never get a ticket from me. But I'd hand out alot of tickets for using the highbeams all the time, not using blinkers, following too closely, and not having headlights on in rain/snow/fog/atnight.

 

Not always a law to have lights on in the rain, snow or fog. But, I do believe it is for night.

Alot of police do not have blinkers on the squad cars either.

So, it is hard to issue a ticket.

I used to be a cop, 15 mph over was usually the only you wold get a speeding ticket from me. All the othetr stuff mentioned was pretty much an automatic ticket. And what is with all of the people using high beams all the time lately, even after you flash at them?

 

Like I told the truck following me the other night when he asked the same thing, they don't care. They're off in their own little world.
