Truck With No APU

Correct but what's Western's policy about idling and do you have a fuel mileage bonus?
Some companies will penalize you for idling long periods and some trucks will shut down after a period of idling.

 

While not familiar with Western Express’s idling policy, I’m sure you aren’t going to like it.

 

They idle their trucks constantly around here.

 

You can run whatever with the truck idling. There are some areas with no-idling laws and some facilities that don't allow idling either. I find it's always better to pretend you don't see the signs and wait until you are told you have to switch off the engine.

 

They could also have outside temperature limits. Like you can only idle truck when it above 78F or below 40F. They can use the trucks thermostat that reads the outside temperature. Not many companies just idle the truck all weekend or 34 hours reset.

My truck has an electric APU. It has 8 batteries to power a electric a/c in sleeper and it had diesel fired heater for winter. Then the computers will start the engine to recharge the batteries when needed.

 

yeah, you can buy a generator, then an a/c, then several "jerry cans" for the gasoline.

try finding places to store all that crap.

idle the darned thing,
"driver comfort" is allowed in (if i recall) all lower 48 states.

and if not, and W/E has some sort of anti-idling policy?
