Actually New Jersey sets up mobile sites where they stick a sniffer in your stack. If you fail they give you a civil fine.

    1) life in prison with a cellmate named, Bubba, that likes sex with men

    2) the law takes away your money, all bank accounts, and all possessions, including your home or rental apartment and your vacation home in Cancun Mexico

    3) your wife (or girlfriend) get turned into prostitutes to pay the ship-shod lawyer hired to work your case

    4) you get all your body hair shaved, and all your finger nails and toe nails get yanked out.

    5) the cot you share with Bubba the sex maniac, has a water pipe above it that water boards you

    6) you get to be on a work program at the prison and have to clean all the sections of highway shoulders with no protection from dumb truck drivers that are distracted, and weaving as they approach you

    7) you get no Ben and Jerry's ice cream for dessert at meal time cuz Bubba steals it

    8) you get your mug shot plastered all over the truck stops, garages, truck repair shops, as a warning to others that want to do this

    9) on laundry day at the prison, when your jump suit is being washed, your cell mate Bubba, likes to have you in his prison jump suit,,with him still in it..!!

10)...i dunno.....but would you really wanna chance it......knowing that there IS a Bubba out there..????

Contrary to popular belief, DOT doesn't care whether you have an engine deleted because that's not what they enforce. There are no OOS fines or any of that. I do know, NJ gives uses the sniffer type thing but I believe that measure a particulate per minute or something like that.... someone can post that info if they have it.

I hate the stuff just as much as anyone else but unfortunately its not going anywhere. Always a risk of being caught but if you aren't brodozing around and rolling coal on every shift they might be less likely to look at you.

And then there is the time you break down on the road and have to get towed to a shop. But first have to find a shop that will work on a deleted truck. Maybe no problem. Maybe.

If your truck ends up at a dealer... have fun because you can't get your truck out until all the smog #### is working
