Things have changed but years ago if they worked you past peak(Christmas Day) that meant you were full time. You would have to ask the union or the company what rules are in effect now. In Louisville a few years ago they let peak hires work in January because of all the returns the volume was so high they had to have extra help. Everything is negotiable and it is not the same from one location to another.
Ups seasonal to casual

From my understanding there isn't a specific date in which you could be "IN" short of you working past January 15 if you've made qualification..LtlAnonymous and Buffalonytrucker92 Thank this.

Thanks everyone. I can call the manager and ask. This is a life changing job for me. I'm super excited that I have the opportunity to wear the brown.
LtlAnonymous and Banker Thank this. -
Worse comes to worse, you've got a class A, ride UPS until they offer you permanent. I envy you for having more fortitude to do it than I do.LtlAnonymous, jmz and Buffalonytrucker92 Thank this.

The ad says full-time temporary seasonal position. But the guys said takes two years for the casual list. Idk. Maybe I'm gonna get screwed over
-
So what? They cut you loose in January and you go run reefer until they call you back? @LtlAnonymous didn't make permanent his first go around...LtlAnonymous, skinnytrucker and jmz Thank this.

If it is the job you want then it is worth whatever it takes to get the job. Worst possible case scenario is you get laid off and you get another job to hold you over until they bring you back. Then they call you back and work you for a few more months and lay you off again. Then you get another job to hold you over. I doubt it will happen, but it could. Like I said before if you are planning to work there as a long term career (30-40 years) you need to have at least a 5 year vision if you plan to be happy there. If you can make it 5 years you probably won’t look back. God forbid you get bored and want to haul cars like I did.LtlAnonymous, Doealex, jmz and 2 others Thank this.

I just don't wanna get my hopes up. And that's what I'm doing. Like I said he did say two years. So maybe that's theagiv number. I just want it.
