I would like to work for a mega. Local area is behind 65' length restrictions about 300 miles in any direction. Those restrictions should be shorter, but politics are in play. The routes have 28 and 30 foot kingpin to rear axel advisories and there are two lane sections 10'-14' wide. This keeps nearly all big companies out. We have 4 main trucking companies (20-50 trucks) and many 1-3 truck operators. Various cumstances require me to be home every few days. I worked for a 5000+ truck company for a year. They never delivered on their promise to get me a route the passes near my home. There is a mega carrier with local routes that will hire me. But, they require me to first do OTR for them for 18 monthes with only 4 days home time.

My suggested solution does not change the specs. I don't wish to invest in a truck I won't be using because, I'm quitting soon, this truck might die before I quit, and I'm not always in the same truck. All the reefers have an upfront vent.

Lonesome, you're support id greatly appreciated.

This post is not about _all_ the carp my boss makes me put up with. This is my chosen life, I deal with it. I dealt with sleeping in -14 degrees without complaint. Because I can. Bottom line is, I can't sleep in the heat, therefore can't safely drive.

A fan does indeed help. When tempurature is under 80. Recently I've been in 100+. My regular truck already has fans in the sleeper vents. I run both, one reversed. It's like a cool breeze through the cab, a loud buzzing cool breeze. Again, this lets me sleep under 80.

Several of these responses were helpfull, thank you.
