Based on my second hand knowledge....I would have to say brand wise...regular Macks and Internationals make the best trucks for hauling heavy loads with some rough terrain thrown in. If I were to pick a truck I like the look of...I would get the new International or a upscale aero style Freightliner....I would not get that if I was going to run hoppers or dumps though based on what I know and have seen.

I don't believe all of them are. There are very few super 10's that pull hoppers around here. 13 is probably the most popular here.

Rob-try 606-330-2105, just got this from the Transportation Cabinet website. Did you ever get a KYU#? You might want to do that before you go in there to get your trailer. If I wasn't such sporadic lurker, I could have come up there and moved your trailer yesterday, although it's probably safe where it sits. Good luck to you, hope it's a quick and easy fix.

KYU is applied for but not final. Well honestly it's filled out but not sent off, I printed out the forms just before that trip, I don't do KY very much. I would probably pick it up after hours anyway, but I'm told worst case is $25 fine for no KYU. Not sure about that though.

I've got a Super 10 in my truck but I haven't pulled anything heavy. The previous owner's driver pulled some heavy stuff but it was always on good road and interstate. He was also a driver with 30+ years experience, so we can't really compare anything but apples to oranges here.
Is it possible that a bolt or whatever came loose and fell into your transmission? I remember when my buddy and I replaced the tower on mine that he was a nut about nothing falling into it. (But then, he was a nut anyway, lol.) And making sure nothing was loose enough to come off and fall in and not be noticed.
And, yes, Rob I do read your thread just about everyday...
Good luck!!!PharmPhail Thanks this. -
