I would like to know if anyone has any experience with Prime's Carrier Program?

ATTN MODS: I have tried 2 times to post this and each time you take it down or move it to the Prime thread. IT DOES NOT BELONG IN THE PRIME THREAD. I am talking about running my own authority, not being a company driver, or a lease operator. PLEASE STOP MOVING IT

I dont get the question? Why do you need prime for anything if you have your own authority?

^^^^ I think what he is trying to say is he is thinking about leasing onto PRIME.

NO. Not leasing onto Prime. They have a carrier program where you use your own authority and insurance, but use their trailers, fuel card, and freight (if you choose to load one of their loads). You are not required to use their loads, but you must give them the chance to load you. If you find better paying freight you can take it.

They do NOT charge you for the use of their trailer. The rates are not the best, but then if you have a hard time finding freight you can use their dispatch.

So, do you have your own trailer that would be parked while you pull a Prime trailer? Seems to me you would be committed to Prime until you get back to where your own trailer is parked. Or, am I missing something here? Either way, I would operate my own power/trailer and get freight from trucking companies that are also brokers.

I was curious about this too. I've seen a deal here in GA doing something similar moving JB Hunt trailers too. You basically move freight for their logistics side of the house. I've seen freight for $1.30/mile plus FSC

Another company to check into that operates in this fashion (from what I gather from the initial post) is Houg. I think they're in Colorado.
