Hello everyone,
Would like some advice about my current situation.
I've had my cdl license for a little over 4 years now and it's been a struggle with finding employment. I worked for goodwill in Va for about 6 years and they sent me to school to obtain my class a cdl license. Once completed the program I drove for them for about 4 months. Management was poor so I decided to find work elsewhere.
August 2018 I started driving for a company hauling a tanker and absolutely loved it. Hauling water and occasionally van, flatbed making decent money. April 2019 I bought my first home in Martinsburg Wv and still drove for the company.
May 2019 while hauling water getting onto the on ramp the load shifted which cause the tractor and tank to roll on its side. Thank god nobody was hurt and nobody else was involved. I was charged with improper driving/careless driving. Had to pay a fine and I recieved 3 points on my driving record. I took that same route up to 3 times a day for almost a year and this time it went horribly wrong. It feels I'll live with this mistake for the rest of my life, but I love driving.
Since then I've tried getting back into the truck but every company is denying me. I've tried big companies and mom and pop companies. They all said my accident has to be 3 to 5 years old and said I'd have a better chance seeking employment with a owner operator. I found a on site yard jockey job but it's just not the same and the money hardly pays to put food on the table for my wife and 5 kids.
About a month ago I started looking into getting a truck and start working for myself but realized just how expensive it is to get the ball rolling and it's just not in the cards for me at this time.
Does anyone know who would give me a second chance ?
Needing information please

Thank you for responding. I have applied on indeed for every single job that has the requirement of 1 year class a cdl driving experience. I expanded my search area to all of wv and the surrounding states. All of them denied me. I will start looking into the craigslist job postings too.

As a last resort look at Chicago's Craigslist and drive for one of the Russian mafia's. They don't care who is in the truck as long as it's moving.
