As far as getting your authority, all you NEED is to pay the filing fee, down payment on insurance, drug test consortium, and a few other minor things. Less than a grand for everything except the insurance.
He's already an O/O, so I assume he has a plate and a maintenance account.

Get your own authority. Why own a truck and work for someone else?

To be on JB Hunt 360 division ( Power Only), your authority has to be 3 months mature. I know this because I’m contracted with JB.
The lC side is different. You need 3 months experience as a company driver either with JB or some other carrier. With a recent felony, there maybe a problem, but that’s depending upon what the felony was and JB’s decision. IC’s are not JBH employees but go through the same hiring process. JB does not lease trucks. You will need to already have a truck or you’ll have to use one of their 3rd party affiliations.
To be on Schneider’s power only, your authority has to be 6 months mature. In the process of becoming a carrier with them. Schneider has SFI you can get a truck through but again, they will not even look at your company until your authority has been active for 6 months minimum.
haven’t called Prime yet. I’m only interested in Prime power only once I create a reefer division within my company. That will happen in a couple of years from now once I start hiring drivers. I need my insurance premium to go down, way down before I can start hiring drivers. -
