I was issued a brand new KW T680 by my company. Phantom electrical problems from the beginning that nobody could/would fix, whether dealership or company mechanics.

The turn signals would quit working as I was changing lanes. Dashboard indicator flashing twice as fast would alert me so I would have to move the turn signal lever to the neutral position then move it back, sometimes repeatedly.

Idle-management system almost never worked. Fortunately, the truck would idle continuously over 70 degrees.

Dashboard lights would go out at random times. Really great at night when you can't see your speedometer and everything else.

I'm sure I'm forgetting something but it made me swear I would never buy a Kenworth, not to say it couldn't happen with other trucks.

When mine happened, they all acted so shocked .. they claim they never heard of something like that happening ... so odd .. took them 3 months to disect the truck ... 1 week to repair it .

I just got out of a T680 and reading about the phantom electrical issues rang true with me. I remember the same issues. The truck was comfy and rode well, but the service centers were awful. I won't complain (too much) about freightliner dealers anymore. I think it's a fact, no matter how new the truck, you will spend time at a repair shop. It's the nature of the beast. Knowing that, I don't think I'll deal with a paccar shop ever again.

There has already been a manufacturer go out of business due to lawsuits on fires. Carb has been rather hush on it because they involved some school buses.
There are to many mysterious fires since they started hanging def on trucks to not take notice that they might be the cause.

Can you elaborate? New to you or new in 2017? How’s the service in SB?
Just left Whiteford South bend. Was looking at new Kenworth.
