No the company files the quarterly ifta reports directly from the ELD. The basically handle all the paper work. I just gotta drive and decide whether or not I wanna work

This is going to be in court for a long time.
Eventually the Feds will need to put an end to this as it effects interstate commerce and the state cannot completely do that.

So it basically will not be put into effect. I heard FMCSA didn’t like it either.

Yes and no. Legally it has been put on hold pending the court case.

In reality a lot of companies have stopped leasing on drivers from California and terminated all existing leases with California drivers. That is regardless of whether you are leasing your truck from said company or if you bring your own truck to the party.

Word of advice, and speaking with daily experience. The load boards are not something you want do for every load. 90%-99% of the loads off the load board are "BOTTOM FEEDER " loads! The good paying loads never make to the loadboard. Brokers offer them to their best and dependable carriers. Another reason you will not see good paying loads on the loadboard, is very common knowledge. Think about it for a moment. If you are broker that is providing millions of dollars in Transportation services for large manufacturers, importers, retailers, wholesales, and others, would you give freight worth $250,000 or more to a unproven, unreliable, unknown carrier? I doubt it! This is why you try build a solid relationship with brokers so you don't have to work off the load!
