These goons are greedy but not stupid. They know they still need a meat in the seat to take the blame when it wrecks. I wish they would do a 100% driverless truck I’d be the first to start hijacking loads.

    Snailexpress Thanks this.

You forgot to include costs of going completely driverless such as trailer hijacking.

Actually lawsuit would go back to the maker of the self-driving truck. As their truck caused the accident. No driver at "insert mega name" was behind the wheel.

That’s why I’m sure they won’t go completely driverless. They need a guinea pig to point to. “Truck malfunctioned and driver x failed to regain control” that will put the driver charged criminally but the goons only have to pay civil matters

    Rubber duck kw Thanks this.

Yet another reason I don't see them lasting very long, you know the manufacturer is going to attempt to pass blame onto the individual programmer.

Why they need to go through Wyoming in winter?
No one live there anyway ^_^.
Remember that computer don't need sleep , they will just go through I-40. And you will be all by yourself in a middle of your Wyoming ^_^

All vehicles will be able to talk to each other going down the road. So there would be no vehicles changing lanes or running into the back of another. Theoretically anyway. But all of this wireless intercommunication will leave a big opening for hackers to take control of a vehicle. Hijackings? Probably, but also ways for terrorists to gain control of rolling bombs. Because their will still be trucks running dangerous hazmat products. Maybe not as much fuel trucks but for sure a lot of chemicals. Also, these driverless trucks will not be able to check securement on flatbeds and getting into some jobsites to deliver to a place on a street that hasn't even finished getting built yet that isn't on any gps isn't gonna happen.

There will be a lot of trucks with drivers in them for many years to come.
    Going to be interesting.

    Ahahahahaha
Dude look on most USA cities.
Most of them except North-East corridor, can be driving by monkey.
So the wage for truck driving inside a city will be minimum pay at best.
