That's what I did. At the school I am going to if you show up with your CDL learner's permit you spend one less week working on the written part of the test and get one more week of practice in the truck. I posted a message about how I studied for my my CDL learner's permit.

    Good luck :)

When everyone recommends getting all the endorsements, does that include passenger, charter bus and school bus? Or just tank, hazmat and doubles/triples?

EDIT: found the answer in the forums. ;)
    Tanker, Hazmat, Doubles/Triples

Took my written exams today. Passed them all (including endorsements) and got my CLP. All set for CDL school now. :)

Call IWX they have there main yard in Springfield, And have runs the call shuttles between Springfield and Kingman, Dallas, Erinburg IN. They run new drivers on teams (or used to) on the shuttles to get experience, then put them into a Solo truck if that what they want. Anyway give them a call, Also Prime is in Springfield and they train as well.

Talked with the TMC recruiter. All set for there too. Starting to lean towards TMC over Maverick. Still have plenty of time to make a choice.

EDIT: time to do some research into TMC and see what others think of it.

Here's my 2cents, good sir: TMC is VERY rigid. . . all former Marines (Kudos, to that!) and very very strict.
ie: Signs that say 'DON'T WALK ON THE GRASS' are NO joke.

    (Tell him, @Chinatown ^^^ !)

Maverick (especially the glass division) will get you HOME more frequently.

Personally, it's not my wheelhouse, so...just giving ya what my 20 some ot years out here has 'taught' me....! Both companies have 'FINE' drivers, IMHO... Ne'er a complaint about EITHER at truckstops, or whatnot!

Kudos, and best wishes, either way, sir!

I say Maverick will get you home more. Tmc is good but Maverick has a lot of dedicated stuff.
