i noticed sometimes some container trailers axels are split.... i guess its for weight distribution? same with triple axle ones?

I don't remember seeing spread axle containers but then I don't really pay attention to them. But having spread axles allows 40,000 lbs on the rear axles as oppossed to 34,000 lbs with tandem axles. Still have the 80,000 lbs limit but it allows the rear to be loaded heavier.

I was also wondering do intermodal truckers keep the same container a lot of the time? or do they constantly switch containers -

Constantly changing cans. May keep chassis from one trip to forever. Some chasis go up to 5 axles.

In GA the container moving companies are kinda hard to find. Look under dryage or cartage companies or something similar to that. There are some larger outfits, but around here its alot of the smaller companies and their equipment is old and on it's last leg. I was trying to find some of them as it seems alot of containers go from Savannah Port to Atlanta and I am located just south of ATL. Just have to look up the company names on the sides of the trucks.
