What kind of tankers did you pull OTR that had no wait times?. I do food grade tanker and wait times are much longer than dry van or even reefer.

Even if they take you right in, it's still 1-2 hour for the actual loading or unloading process. It's been as much 4hrs from hose hookup to disconnect. So far, the time spent sitting at shippers and receivers has been a huge disappointment.

Chemical tank is a lot less waiting. Most of my deliveries were from 1 to 1.5 hrs. And when it was over 2 hrs we get demurrage (detention) until we are done and ready to leave. Loading usually took even less time.

I'm not a regular truck driver. But I love to drive track and other cars at the same time. Whenever I get free time I love to drive my truck.

I liked flatbed pretty good when I was at Western Express too. I worked flatbed off and on over the years but I like reefer the best. For me, that has proven to be the most consistent money year round, and i like running late at night. When I do go to sleep, that reefer running is music to my ears. I get the best sleep when it runs on continuous. Not only that, you're not limited to temperature controlled freight. You can run dry van freight too.

@Chinatown told me if you wanna run at night then reefer is the way to go, too bad flatbed seems to be the exact opposite, idk how to get my as back to running at night like a like

I drive at night quite a bit doing flatbed. More specifically, early morning hours I guess. A typical day for me, get up about 2am, take a shower and eat breakfast and head out around 3am. Not night driving exactly but I do have a few hours of darkness and not much traffic and am able to stop early to ensure a good parking space.

My wife an i run team. Our schedules are constantly changing. I can start out the week running nights an two days later end up on days an back an forth it goes. Sometimes i end up being a tired puppy from the constant changing sleep patterns. It doesn't bother my wife cuz she sleeps good regardless.

It is....lots of deliveries in the wee hours. Often times running reefer, I make deliveries on my 10. I have learned to switch with a finger snap running reefer. Sometimes if I have to run graveyard, I'll eat a lot, get full. Then I'll fall asleep quickly lol. That way I can rest during the day

I'd do what I do now. Home every day, daycab, pulling doubles. It's the BEST.

I lost the ability to be away from home at some point. It just doesn't work for me.
