No problem I was actually writing a response to you when you posted it. Good luck. Keep in mind it's still a job but definitely way ahead of the class in trucking.

Hi whats going own I had somewhat problem with the heartrate but the key thing is to watch your breathing what I mean by that, breath in througH your nose and out through your mouth pretty deep breath practice this before and during the test. Also if they can let you see how your heart is responding before you start the test you can see how you can control it remember smile and think of something you really love I thought about God and how he can move any barriers. The key thing is do not worry amagin that you already are rich and you are just doing this just for fun.YOU WELL DO FINE
My name is Dan, I live in Rochester, NY but am going for a job in the Liverpool Office. I have made it to the last step. I go this Friday for my Heart rate test. That is the only part I am scared about, can you tell me what it is like. I am 5'10, 275Lbs. I passed the physical with no problems at all. I just never had a heart rate test done before. Tammy the HR lady said it isnt too bad. She said if I pass they will bring me in the same day to fill out all my paper work and start orientation on Monday the 28th. All the info you can give would be great. If you like you can give me a call, my number is 585-200-0657. I look forward to your reply

Target441,,
Thanks for the heads up. Can you give me some detail of what they made you do? Walking on a tredmil, star climb, lifting weights? Anything you did that will help we get ready for mine would be great. Your breathing method will help me, I will start to practice tonight for that.
target441 Thanks this. -
Well I passed my ability test today and DOT Foods offered me a position. I start driving this Sunday. I will be meeting my driver trainer at 11am on Sunday Morning and bringing a trailor out to the Indiana DC.

No Orientation?

All I know from observing DOT foods guys is that they don't pay for lumpers. You are the lumper for a much lower rate. That would drive me nuts. I hate unloading for nothing.
-
Yes I will have orientation but not until the 1st full week in October. My new driver supervisor said I could start this week out on the road and get some experience or start on October 5th in the class room. I selected this week to get some driving under my belt.

I don't mind lumping, it will keep me in good shape. Lets face it truck drivers are not the heathest people in the world because they don't do much but drive for hours a day. Unloading the truck will keep me moving. Not to mention DOT Foods gets you home 2.5 days a week garunteed and puts it in writting that you will make 50,000 your 1st year and if you don't they cut you a check for the difference. Not to bad for being my 1st driving job. Also they do round trip dispatching, so when you leave the shop you no when you will return. There is no waiting for anther load. You drive to your customer unload, maybe make another stop to pick up something and you come back to the shop. Your never stuck at a truck stop waiting for a load to get you home. Those were some big pluses for me and wanting to work at DOT Foods.

You know we unload for a low rate first hand? I didn't think so. If you consider $50-$100 hr for unloading a low rate I don't know what to tell you. When I'm unloading that's what I make. I get paid for every case on my truck and every line item on my truck whether I touch it or not. There are some loads I make $150 - $200 and don't touch a single box. I get paid to get a great workout and keep in good shape. Works out great for me but it's not lazy people. As far as much lower rate than a lumper
the guy lumping the truck don't make *bleep**bleep**bleep**bleep* compared to what I make. The lumper svc makes the money not the lumpers. Lumpers are lucky to make $10 hr.
