Hit the nail on the head! I'm working on creating viable $$ online so I can bounce overseas. $3k a month is all a person needs.

Why did you quit and risk killing yourself or others...or end up getting put out of service/expensive violation? Trucking is all of that and at much lower rates than the good old days. I really appreciate and respect fellow drivers providing this necessity. I'm getting off this train myself hopefully soon.

Just cleaned out my truck two days ago. After the 14th consecutive time. My dispatcher mysteriously somehow messed up my home time, I cleaned my truck out. Just gave up about a $1600 a week job on the spot. And you know what? I’ve never felt better. The only thing that would’ve made me feel better then that? Punching the lying con. Lol but I know better than that.

I sold on eBay for years. Made a killing! Also used to flip used restaurant equipment, did even better on that. Both of those things started out a side gigs and turned into full-time incomes really quick. Not sure how it would work right now, there’s more competition with everyone being out of work.

    Rideandrepair and Montanaland Thank this.

Pay for Truckers has a lot to be desired. It should be 1.5 x the current average. It’s no wonder no one wants to do it.

I can agree with the first part, but seems the industry is continuously flooded with more and more trucks.

Over the last few years, the cost of selling on eBay went through the roof, and so did the cost of shipping. I sold high end items to very specialized collectors, and while I could probably get back into it, dealing with all of the BS and working from home isn't what I'm looking for right now. Perhaps again when I retire from trucking.
