You know, looking at the pic, I see his lights are on. I am sure drivers do this to be more visable, but I think it may have the opposite effect. I think some guy driving drunk or drugged up sees taillights and thinks the guy is moving. Only when it's too late does he realize the truck is parked and he is not on the Interstate. What say you all?

The driver lived, the woman was the passenger. No idea what condition he was in, or whether he was texting.

Yeah what I was suspecting is the driver had been texting and drifted into the shoulder, hits truck on passenger side and passenger pays the ultimate price.

Same thing that I see every day on 287, people texting drifting off to the right and then catch themselves and jerk it back into the lane.

Or he just swerved when he realized the truck was parked and didn't make it around the trailer. She got nailed.

Not when that truck pulls out in front of you at a dead stop. Or when a truck noses in between 2 other trucks and leaves their trailer hanging out 2 ft over the line. I see it all the time. Not to mention all the trash, all the ramps look like the entrance to a landfill. No, i have no sympathy for ramp parkers.

I find it very frustrating to drive past 1000's of acres of land, yet if you don't park by 4:00 PM you aren't getting a place. Every truck stop is packed. I don't understand why there aren't more. I stopped in Georgia at the rest area just past Chattanooga around 6 AM. Walked all the way up to the door only to find it locked. WTF? They should be open 24 hours. So I get back in my truck and drive to the nearest truck stop, which wasn't that close. I went through the pumps at the end, and parked at the pull up line. Fortunately I wasn't in there too long. This is a sad business sometimes.
