NOPE. We are required to put down the actual NUMBERED POSITION the fifth wheel is setting in on the rails.

So, counting from front (closet to cab) to the back.....

Do you notate the slot directly below the kingpin, or open slots in front of the fifthwheel, or?????

Is this some kind of company requirement.? Weird..

Count the holes from the front toward rear & whichever hole the forward slider dogs are locked into is the number I'd report.

Who is asking you for this info..?

I've never had to enter kingpin, but on tandem slide it's count from the front.

I either count from the head of the row, or from the dividers. If I just need to move it a hole or two, I take a screwdriver or other tool and scratch a mark. Fifth wheel adjustment is a headache, I know. Like everything else on the job, it just takes a little practice.

Does your company have 5th wheel monitors riding around checking the position?
