I think that it's a possibility that you have the entire thing backwards. She was licking his "ice cream cone" , but the rest of your story may be correct.

You be surprised what a little common sense, some pre-planning and Google Maps can do when your in a jam trying to find places to park. Me, I've never had to block another truck in at a truck stop to take my 10hr break and rarely use ramps. But it seems to be the new trend in trucking is parking on a shoulder of an interstate without an actual mechanical failure; for the purposes of taking your 30 min break, urinating or getting a cat nap in. Driver dont realize that if they are involved in an accident when stationary, that lawyer of the other party involved is going 2 have a field day.

This happens more than people think. When a car hits you and you, parked like that, it's a distracted driver mostly...

You can play hard ### all you like but there is nothing wrong with parking on an on ramp occasionally. Ive done it, most drivers have. Don't be the animal that throws garbage all over but I won't fault a guy that needs to take a piss.

Taking a leak and parking overnight to sleep are not comparable. Especially on the off ramps, that just tells me the driver didnt make any effort to find a secure spot to park in the first place. And the ones that park at the end, or halfway down an on ramp are just plain ignorant. Sorry if that offends you but thats my opinion.

I once drove 90 minutes over my 11 hours of drive time in order to park in a safe spot. I'd rather explain why I exceeded my HOS than have something like this happen.

I did the same thing. My know it all boss told me to go pick up a load on the other side of Nashville (I was in DIckson) and it was 4:00. I told him there was no way I would have time to go to Gallatin then make it to the Pilot in Murfreesboro (and I knew they would have no spaces). He knew better and sent me. Sure enough I ran out of time there. So I went to the next one, a Loves on 24. Full. Then the next one, an independent and it was full. I ended up spending the night in the truck at the scales that are closed on 24. Two hours over. Since I parked safely he didn't say a word, because then he would have to admit he was wrong.

Tell that to the states that are cracking down on the issue-Tennessee being one of them. From my understanding Georgia is issuing $300 fines if they catch you. Virginia is taking it even further by issuing fines and assessing points against licenses. I know with my company they definitely don’t want anyone parking on any ramps unless you are honest to goodness disabled/broke down!! If something goes wrong the first thing they’ll do is go to the dash cam footage!

Notice that many miles of Kentucky have been strung with small poles and wire on every exit so you cannot pull off and park.
