Can someone please help me figure out application differences between the two filters? See attached pictures, I'm assuming that the one with white rubber collar is for EPA10 engines and the other one with thin felt gasket is for EPA8.
Also, the one with the white collar comes with 2 o-rings, one larger one for the screw on cap and the smaller orange one for, what?
Can you guys shed some light on the subject as my shop may have installed wrong filer during last oil change
Thank you much, Jacob![]()

2010 oil filter 3007498C92 with the white collar, more robust seal.
2007 oil filter 3006874C91 with the foam seal.
The small orange oring is for your oil pan plug. Changing this oring isn't necessary every time. Only when needed. Good to keep for spares.stuckinthemud and kubasj05 Thank this. -
Awesome, and as always thank you Heavyd for all the help

Why did international stop making Maxxforce engines and would you recommend buying trucks with this engine -
Because it is a garbage energize and everyone will tell you to run.
I’ve had mine for 2 years / 100,000 miles now and she’s doing not so bad. No worse than my C15 I’ve had before this.Heavyd Thanks this. -
So would you say just keep up the the services regularly and it will be ok. Did you upgrade the EGR system?

Check records, fuel pump, egr cooler, egr valve, doc, dpf, cylinder #5, 6 exhaust manifold update, CCOS jet plate. NED diagnostic software on demand is a must IMO.
I had mine that I bought almost 2 years ago and it is 2012 with 237k
on, now I'm at 310k and I've done high pressure turbo and exhaust manifold,
I'm using Power Service fuel additive every time I fuel the truck, it helps fuel lubricity and promotes cleaner burn thus less soot.
When I bought my truck and did a service job on it, we found lots of metal shavings in the fuel filter cup mind you the fuel pump was put in 2 years earlier. It runs till now with no issues and no shavings! I love power band at top, it's torque is addictive but it's slow from the get go comparing to VGT turbo trucks. I've turned $250k in less than 2 years with this truck, paid 13k and it was an Ryder truck. It never got me stranded, I never had to do parked regen since I own this truck but I had other problems related to suspension, cab suspension, air leaks, water leaks. Nonetheless, I know I'm lucky and I'll take it however vigorous maintenance has a lot to do with it i believe. I'm doing 20k oil intervals, running Delvac 5-40 full synthetic with gallon of Lucas synthetic oil additive since I bought the truck. OEM or fleetguard filters only, every 20k some at 40k. Hopefully it will last another 2-3 years. Stay away from 2011 and older maxxforce models with EPA 08 emissions. I don't encourage you but if you find low milage, service records maxxforce Truck for cheap, I'd risk $10-12k at most depending on its condition.
