I'm going to be the Debbie Downer here

I've teamed with an S.O. before and it's a lot less than a cake walk. Times when you want to be alone, you can't. Times when you want to be 'together', you've got a deadline. Resets can take place in some of the most god-awful locations and when you have a disagreement, there's no distance between you.

My suggestion: definitely go with a mega your first year or two. Some company with lots of trucks, more than a few terminals and shippers/ receivers everywhere. These companies don't care where you take 'hometime' as long as the truck is secure. Definitely take a weekend or a day now and then apart. If you're always with 5 feet of each other, you never have the chance to miss one another. Don't bring a pet into the mix until you have the two of you sorted out.
