TA Grand Island West. 648 miles today. 850 to go. Delivery isn't till Thursday morning but I’ll call in the morning and see if we can’t move that to Wednesday before noon. This place always puts lots of time on the trips. Got a 50 50 chance of moving the appointment?

Really. Its backwards here. Shop is fine, house is fine. But so many people building barn homes. You will have it inspected to see that it actually has living quarters. Different tax rate. Plus can be hard to finance barn home over house if you dont have cash and good credit.

Do you ever really tarp things like steel pipes? That’s basically what I have, maybe not the exact name and some are different sizes; I’m just wondering if Western actually looks at the specific load you’ve got and decides if you tarp or not; I’ve got it tarped but Jesus man, Arizona, nuff said

I mean they were just laying on the ground outside when I got there

It says “this load must be tarped or else you may be terminated” basically, but I swear it’s an automated message just like every time I send in a “loaded call” I get a message telling me to scale my load

Get used to it. I’ve gotten smarter but I do get irritated when that take something I tarped and just put it in the mud next to all the other ones.

Or roofing shingles? You know the things you put on the roof to keep the rain out? Picked up in the rain and delivered in the rain. But they want that #### tarped?

I did notice that tarping shingles kinda went away in 2018. I made darn good money hauling shingles. But they couldn’t pay enough to find trucks that would tarp.

Lol wow , they atleast pay u for it right ? If they say tarp it . I would , just because u never know if anoter western drivers sees u with that load untarped he probably snitch on u.. I got in trouble for that when i was with swift. The megas always seem to have a lot of tattle tales that like to play that game

Rofl shingles were my first load, I knows how you feels; forget the money I’d rather work for a competent company next, every time I gotta tarp something like that I’m like, “Balls.”
