Guys just thought I would let you know I found the problem..
It was the fuel pressure regulator stuck closed would not let fuel return back to the tank and caused fuel pressure to get to high and set the code,Strang problem!! -
What does vehicle speed signal loss have to do with fuel pressure?
Maybe yer reading the wrong bible to ID codes....? -
This is why If you read the code logics the reason for it to set the code was
#1 speed is 0 mph
#2 engine over 650rpm's
#3 rack fuel vol over 7.0mm and that is the part that set the code, bacause fuel pressure regulator stuck close and ramp the fuel pressure over 120psi that is when the high fuel pressure and NO return fuel the engine was starving for fuel, pluse width was getting wider and wider, The rack fuel vol was over 8.9mm and SET THE CODE... -
the best thing to do with a c-12 cat is run it off a cliff and tell the insurance man it was stolen then go buy you a real truck with a real motor in it.
CaterpillarWrench Thanks this. -
I agree 100% !!!!
That is what I would do if it was mine!!!! -
Oh bull dont knock it if you dont own it I run one and love it its a lightweight fuel efficient powerhouse saving 800 lbs for me means more money in my pocket every load I think its an excellent motor
like "real motors" never have problems
if they were junk how come so many bulk haulers (tanker, hopper, pneumatic tank) etc run them? excellent motor in the right application
can your real motor get 7.35 mpg in a pete 379 ? I doubt it
mine aint goin off a cliff anytime soon -
Motor works great on combines and cat farm tractors, not exactly cream puff conditions don't know why some people have issues on road no dust not under full load 100% of the time
-
I would have to agree with farmermatt on this. Lightweight and fuel-efficient with decent power sums it up.
farmermatt Thanks this. -
no wonder they work so good in bulk hauler trucks hell they spend half there time running empty hell my big motor can get 7.5 running empty
