The wash places don't want that grease on the floors, hard to get rid of, makes a mess of clothes and shoes, and it continues to be the gift that keeps on giving, something to keep in mind if you do a wash job yourself, been there, done that, and got the tee shirt.
Use a cardboard box to put what you scrape off and put the box in a trash receptacle. The less you mess with the grease, the less mess you have to deal with.
For occasional 5th wheel lube; I've used spray can, and Lucas pour on, and have a can of open gear spray I'm using to top it off now. I use grease when needed, too. I don't over grease it anymore, already had to clean this one out so it would latch from the driver previous over greasing it during extreme cold.Shawn2130 and Midnightrider909 Thank this. -
Thankfully(?), no one at this company knows how to grease a fifth wheel. I'll hook up to an RGN, get loaded and, before I reattach, I'll schmear some on the plate. Only the bottom half, though, so the rollers don't push it all onto the differential.Shawn2130 and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.
