Both my internal meter and the new external meter are nearly the same and way different from the barjunk one so definitely a bad meter. It had me having to cut a 1/4 inch off the stinger to get it short enough while the built in and new external have me raising it nearly as high as it will go to get a perfect match with 1 and 40.
1.4 on the outer bands and 1.2 in the middle.

Fair enough. Was that thing really $175?

You must have gotten a bad one then. Mine works just fine. I have even double checked it against other meters and it is spot on as far as checking swr.

Im sure that's the case. Just like everything else you can get a bad one now and then.

As for the one I have now I paid $130. Normally sells for $165 but I got a discount for spending so much money there. Threw in a gear keeper as well.
I like the cross needle way it works. Enables you to read everything at the same time and no calibrating for every channel when checking swr. Probably overkill for what I need but it also reads pep more accurately than most. (or so I'm told)
There are mixed reviews on it but from my limited experience so far I think it works great.

Yeah I wanted something a little better than the average $25 meter since I'm getting into to tinkering some with radios as a hobby/little extra income kinda thing. No one around here does anything when it comes to CBs so I figured why not. I have a fairly good aptitude for it and enjoy it and this meter seemed to fit the bill when Paul described it to me.
Caught hell from the wife tho :biggrin_2558:

Look at the front of the unit. On the left it reads Trans On the right Ant. Mystery solved
