Now I know why some of these coil plants require long sleeve shirts.

This coil seems like it went straight from the furnace to my trailer. You could just feel the heat coming off this thing. Felt like I was being branded when I brushed up against the thing while chaining it down.

When I am unloading it the next day and the thing still feels like nuclear fire onside my conestoga.0

Rubbing up against the inner edge of the coil is a good way to cut your arm down to the white meat. Glad you are ok!

Man, even a long sleeve shirt wont protect the skin from a fresh coil. I remember once when I got an ingot from Greensboro, GA. I went to chain it up and my skin touched and it was fresh out of the furnace. It burned the absolute #### out of me, I saw my skin bubble up! While i was pulling flatbed, i was careful to not let my skin even come close to the metal. There was one place on Ohio, near Toledo, i think that had the drivers put on long sleeve and extra padded sleeves along the forearms, because the tubing is so sharp around the edges

I think I have a picture somewhere ill have to dig for it. But I picked up a coil once. All the coils were outside on these races on the ground. There were thousands of coils. The racks they were on were heated. I was wonderimg why I was so hot then I walked closer to the coils and it felt like I was in an oven. I never asked but I assumed it was to keep the coils from rusting because they were outside. Ill try to find the pic

I used to haul ingots out of there with a permit... went to Reynoldsville with them. That was back in my days with Metal Transportation out of Oswego, NY.

I recall having to get permits too. I always took them to Russellville, KY. I secured the hell out of that ingot, and I remember one driver put 6 straps and kept it moving
