I'm a national van driver ..... my kids are grown and gone so I stay out usually a minimum of 14 to 18 days ..... I've got no complaints about the home time or miles (lately I've been getting a min of 2500 miles a week) ..... financially it works for me but I planned for this career change by paying off my house, car, and credit cards ....

Hey Rocky, good choice going with Roehl,, I am 2 weeks into Evo 3 and have nobcomplaints, from the recruiting process to school, to the trainers I had out on EVO's 1 and 2, and everyone I have dealt with up until this point.

As for the "Payback" of the school financing,, it will be "Paid in full" after you drive 120,000 miles once qualified as a solo driver

Right now I am in one of the older International's (No APU) sitting in Arkansas with a temp of 83 degrees at 2338 CST,,, not what I am used to in WI and the UP of MI where I live,, but other than the lack of A/C at night,, it is all good. FM's and evening/weekend support have all been outstanding,, and they have kept me rolling to the point that I am almost out of hours until I do a reset,, but that is a good thing- more mile more money!

Then best thing I can tell anyone who are getting ready to start school, is keep a good attitude,, be receptive and keep an open mind,,,,

GrC,, glad to hear you are doing well out there,,, I am in 1179 if you see me headed down the road or at a T/S,,, always happy to jack jaw with another driver.. there are lots of red Freightliners and International's out here,, but it seems to be only the Roelh trucks with a friendly driver.... hope everyone is doing good and staying safe out there-

7/4 7/3 is a good deal if you are wanting more home time. you will always launch either on a saturday or a wednesday and go out for seven days. Saturday launch equals four days off and wednesday launch equals three days off. you will share two trks with two other drivers , this is the down side to 7/4 7/3 always loading all your stuff in and out of trk and make sure inside is clean and smells clean for the next guy. the miles are average 2200 to 2400, sometimes more sometimes not. on the week that you launch on saturday is usually the week for miles since you have to save a couple trips back to turn in on your next time out, because when you launch on wednesday you only have till noon friday to get your trips scaned in for your next paycheck. So there are weeks were its feast or famine till you learn to buget the trips you complete each week. Also I believe you must live within 100 miles of terminal or drop yard to do this. Im currently driving about 80 miles to east st louis to get to trk. Oh yeah you find out about your load the day before you launch through your phone mail box from your dsr. grc56_tn sorry man Im not trying to hijack your thread, just answering a question for a fellow driver every one please be safe out there:biggrin_25519:

Thank you much! I plan on doing exactly that. Keeping a good attitude is important.

My recruiter just called and asked if I had any further questions before heading on up to Marshfield on the 4th. Thought that was nice. From what I have been reading the Roehl folks seem to be a friendly bunch!

Again thanks everyone for your helpful posts. See you out there! [IMG]
