Wanna share what was involved in the test? Mine's coming up... For instance, I've heard that you have to point to like 300 parts on the truck???

10 questions? wow.... how did you get out that easy? They didn't ask us questions we have to go through the pre trip point or touch everything and explain what we are looking for and what can be wrong....and your Brake Tests

Its alot of stuff for the pre trip from bumper to bumper....

LSUTruck... are you in class? if so then they should tell you... if not then I would ask your dmv what you need to know. They should tell you and the stuff you need to know should also be in your DMV CDL Manual. What state are you taking it in?

Yep, the pre-trip is usually pretty exhaustive - everything in the engine compartment, all the bits on the outside (lights, fuel tanks, mirrors, wipers, etc.), all the suspension/braking components. Congrats on getting it all memorized! :D

Louisiana , my class actually starts next week. Ok, yea, I'm sure they'll be able to prepare me for my states specific testing technique.

    Thanks

Congrats on passing the test! Feels good doesn't it? I passed mine last week, it's a huge relief! So now that you have your CDL, have you decided what company to go to?

They only asked about trailer suspension, tires, emergency equipment, fuel tank, electrical and air lines, how air travels through the trailer.... In the cab I did the air brake tests, the leak down....and asked about gauges.... Nothing else.... i guess I got away easy.... Pretrip took less than 20 minutes...to pass.. I knew more and practised every day.. I listened to a cd in my radio everyday for 3 weeks,,,on the way to school.
