I cross heavy ( 67000 lbs load) into upstate new york out of Montreal, and am too heavy to use Alexandria Bay Bridge, so have to use Massena,NY to get in. Mandatory x-ray for all trucks, unless they're repairing the x-ray bay. 5-10 min per truck, so you could be there an hour if there's a lineup. Seems like overkill because my company crosses loads multiple times daily there and its an obscure crossing, across from Cornwall

Proximity to Cornwall is the issue. I used to cross further east in Quebec,,very obscure border,,as in we had to wake US border guards up. Otherwise its the man bun putting you on the radar:D

Got docked in Sarnia for the first time today. Don't even think they went inside the trailer. I was inside for not even 5 minutes before they gave me a new seal and I was out. Seemed like they were lazy and didn't want to check.

If this is true that would be great. The ambassador bridge sucks, only one lane for trucks and that sometimes backs up all the way to the Canadian side. Having two Bridges would definitely lower traffic on the Windsor/Canada crossing. If it connects 96/75 that's a big + too. Of course the ambassador bridge owners aren't happy but I hope every shot they take gets put right back down.

I would never use the ambassador bridge again if they opened the new one.

Something like that. Matty Moroun, the now-deceased owner of the Ambassador Bridge, sued both the United States and Canada in order to retain the rights to build a bridge, but AFAIK he lost.
