I have a 2013 Peterbilt 389 605hp 2050tq Cummins. When I let the clutch out and am in first gear, the gear shifter wants to move to the passenger side of the truck while in that gear. It is the only gear that it does this in. I have a little vibration as well. Just don’t know what it could be.

I’d check motor and trans mounts first before assuming it’s in transmission .

I just did motor mounts, but I will check the transmission mounts and fluid levels

Well, I looked at the rear motor mount and I already broke one. I don’t have 10k miles on them. So I’m sure that is my issue. But now I have to figure out why I broke another one. I know new parts fail, but dang.

2 bolt style mount or 4? If its the two drill them out and run 3/4 bolts and nuts through them.

Two bolt style that mount the motor to the mount. Thank you for the idea @pushbroom

The 2 bolt mounts were an issue when they first came out. Field fix was to drill both pieces out to 3/4 and run 3/4 bolts. It does take a bit of time to get them both drilled even with a good reamer. I have had no failures going to 3/4 bolts.

There is an update out to upgrade it to 4 bolt mounts and that is what all the new trucks come with. Parts are a bit pricey tho. Local dealer should be able to look up the conversion or I can but honestly i'd just drill em out.

That is what I’m going to do when I get back home. I know I shouldn’t drive with broken mounts, but I’m not going to pay for someone to fix what I put in. So be easy with the right foot. That just a lot of weight and torque those two bolts have to handle. It’s four bolts to the frame, but just don’t understand the engineering guys some days on what they think is a “good idea”. I paid roughly $330 a mount.
