    I have been pre hired with Werner and Swift and I start my training on the 12th of this month. I am located in Las Vegas and I am going through Southwest training. My question is this: I have read and reread all the horrible things about both companies and the good things. Which one is better and why? I want to be a solo driver and I will take region or OTR it does not matter. My mind set is this. I am here to work and since I have no experience I will do what it takes to succeed and be successful. I would be grateful to anyone with some advice. Thanks

    You'll find this forum has lots of helpful advice. You just have to look aound a bit. Best advice I can give right now is keep looking around the board and read up on these and other companies. Research, research, research. Just because you have pre-hires from these two companies don't mean you have to stop and go with one of them. While in school, fill out and send in as many applications as you can. There are some really good companies that will hire students.

    Make sure, whatever company you start with, that you stay with them for a year then upgrade jobs. No decent company will touch you untill you have a little time under your belt. And before one of you guys out there start telling me you came right outta school and making 70,000 a year, you would be the exception to the rule. Just go into knowing it's gonna be a rough year and start looking with a clean record and some experience. You seem to understand this already so you should be fine.
