I use that route all the time to go to Aberdeen from the south. That sign refers to a small road on the north side of the dam. You stay on 1 and then about 10 miles later you cut back East following the signs to I-95. I will post the route in just a bit.

Stay on 1 until you get to Md 24 and it takes you straight to 95. Easy route just a bit hilly, scales too but have yet to see them open.

Oh and yes going south you don't have to pay that crappy bridge toll. Its a good route to avoid those scales tho.

To avoid the bridge toll. I am usually leaving Aberdeen heading north not going to it. I just reversed the route I take. You're def right tho, don't need that route to get there from the south unless you want to see that ####ty dam as a tourist stop.

That sounds like a really good way to go.

There is no Bridge toll that you have to pay to go over the Susquehanna River?

Fyi no 53' trailers on the conowingo dam rt 1. Going south there is a scale about 1 mile past the dam, and no turn off be for the scale. Fine is $500. Scale is generally open from 6am to 3pm

Tyvm, I never saw a sign and after reading your post looked it up. Seems they like to switch between writing over width and over length tickets.

You mean going north, the scale is 1 mile before you get to the dam.
