Buying my first truck DD15

I have s 2014 710 k on odometer. Egr does that and oil pressure looks normal . The 2014 have a different designed one box that was supposed to be reliable. I know another guy that has 750 k on his , we both have Apus so low idle hrs .
The def systems on the trucks can be a pain but can be maintained for the most part if you can turn a wrench. Don't matter what truck you buy they all have issues.

 

Look at the cam frame housing gasket. Where the high pressure injector lines run into the housing on the left side of the engine make sure it is dry. Towards the rear of the engine around cylinder 6 on both the left and right side is common spots of leaks. If there is leaks present that is quite a job. Looking at 4 to 6 hours in labor to replace. People start complaining of low power due to injectors going out around 650000 to 700000. I would have them due a parked regen. Ask what the NOX effienciny is. It should be above .85 at the least. I have seen them at 1.0 (100%)They also can read ash content as well to see how much life is left in your DPF filters. A lot of codes on trucks can also be permanent so ask for a print out of codes on the truck.
