It runs off GPS satellites. I haven't been running equipment in the autosteer era very much so I can't explain all the bells and whistles that get put to work so I can sit back and watch. It only steers the machine you still have to pay attention to the rest of it.

 

It’s good business sense in my opinion, to stick with what gives you the best service.....

Since, for me, trucks are tools and so I try to get the best tool for the job at the best price. I have looked at paccar products but there is a significant price premium on the same spec. Other than engine - it would have to be a Cummins which I don’t trust (rightly or not) - the transmissions and suspension would exactly the same

 

A O/O Freind of mine here in WV uses a Cabover Shaker. It had a DD in it, and is replacing it with a DD from a marine application, I hear they can be some stout horses....?!! It’s fully electronic....

 

He parked it in the middle of a state route and header was junk.

 

This fat kid has been humping the last few weeks. One last delivery today. The off to the shop to get some work caught up.

@jamespmack has mentioned before about a few ECM equipped 2 stroke Detroits.. & I've personally seen one 8v92TA with a DDEC III in a Wanderlodge Bluebird. Sounded like heaven on earth!!

On a side note,got a good laugh this morning. I get these pop-up info advisories from accuweather and the captiion to entice me read; "firefighters share video of initial response in devastating fire in Medford ,CA"

Watching the morning news before getting out of bed this morning, the video of how bad air quality was in Portland, OR....up in the left corner, identifying the location was PORTLEND, OR.

These are supposed to be college educated people working here.....I guess geography and spelling let alone spell check are definitely a thing of the past!
