It was a rail chassis with the air lines low and more toward the passenger side. Lines were low, got caught on the lip of the chassis...pop.

When I did the test? I was lucky to do it on an old runway in Bangor Maine. I had happened to stop before a irregular line on the ground. That line was the distance I needed to move the truck. So when I got back in to move back? I was able to see the line and move the tires to that point.

You might ask the officer whom is giving you the test if you can set a coin for refference of your tires. Measure the distance per the above vid. Set a coin on the ground where the rear trailer tire needs to stop. Presuming the officer allows it and they dont move it. Back up to the coin. Here in Maine it is a foot from the rear line.

Once you get out there it is much easier to do it with out the coin. Also if you own a trailer at home. You can practice at home as well, as much of the backing is the same with a long trailer.

Thanks! Wasn't trying to be a Richard......just curious how it happened. I have only pulled Vans, not familiar with other equipment configurations.:D

Oh no. I wasn't worried about it. I love a good learning experience, as long as nothing got damaged and nobody got hurt. Now on that config, I know another thing to look for.
