1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Has anyone looked into this type of work? If so did you find out what hoops need to be jumped through in order to drive up in Canada? I am young and want to see about getting involved in this type of work while I am still healthy and single.

From what I know you need to be Canadian. Whether it means moving up here first or finding someone to give you a work permit. There are a few other posts on the subject if you search the threads....

    Good luck!

I was thinking some sorta work visa would be required. I might give one of the companies a call to see what I would need to do in order to maintain living in the USA while I go up there to work 3 months a year.

To work on the Ice Road in Canada, you have been answered already. You have to be Canadian.

In addition, a rookie would not be hired.

During last year's show they showed the newb Isack that Hugh was training. But they sent him packing from the garage after he failed his CDL exam, lol.

Try this link. There are other websites out there with this information. Some will charge you others are free. From what I know you will need to apply for a Canadian CDL and a passport. Some of these companies in Canada will employ drivers from all over the world.

Just bare in mind. This is not an easy gig. But good luck.
