If you are an owner-op, and if you leased a truck before buying your truck, did leasing a truck significantly help you learn how to perform more efficiently and effectively as an owner-op?
I'm not asking if lease purchase helped you to buy a truck. For instance, if you did lease purchase to buy a truck and if lease purchase did not help you in any way except to make you own a truck once the truck was paid off, the answer to my question would be: "No, lease purchase did not help me perform more efficiently and effectively as an owner-op."
I have the idea that going into leasing a truck before becoming an owner-op might help one perform owner-op for the following reasons: 1# maybe when one leases a truck, one uses the DAT software program to obtain loads. So leasing a truck would help one as an owner-op because one would learn how DAT software works as a lease driver 2# when one leases a truck, one has to take care of all the truck maintenance and repairs. perhaps taking care of all the truck maintenance and repairs as a lease driver would make someone better at maintaining a truck as an owner-op, even if one hires mechanics to do all the repair work (as opposed to doing it oneself) and #3 perhaps there are other ways that leasing a truck helps one prepare to be an owner-op that i am not aware of.
