    This thread honestly makes my head hurt. Like there is absolutely ZERO way for the engine RPM to magically raise or lower if the speed and gear are constant. It will never happen unless the gearing was changed, tire height was changed or the clutch is slipping.

    The only thing I can go back to that I never got a clear answer on was if the diff was replaced and if so, was one of a different ring & pinion ratio used.

    The other point of attack I would go after is putting a phototach on the front crank pulley and see if the tachometer in the dash is accurate, along with verifying the accuracy of the speedometer.

    @jamespmack t
    I've given you guys everything lol. Just trynna figure out why is the truck in 6th going 18 mph at 1500 rpm heading into 7th already? Why am I in 7th already at 18 mph 1500 rpms? Why am I in 8th already at 25mph 1500 rpms?

    Thats it...did it always fo that? No...
    Have I done anything major to the truck outside a previous clutch job? No
    Many people preached that I needed a new clutch. Well i got a whole new clutch system replaced. Mechanic said my transmission is thw right transmission inside, and that the geara look fine.

    That's it.....the mechanic says the truck is fine. A few other mechanic said the same thing.

    I have no clue....but nothing has changed performance wise since the new clutch.

    There's nothing left out of my story....

    Differential was not replaced.

    I'm just frustrated as anyone else, because mechanics are telling me the truck is fine.

    Look at this picture....im in 6th gear going into 7th....18mph 1500rpm....new clutch put in.

    I dont know.....

    Why? All I've seen is the rpm and speed in 6th and 7th. Maybe sharing that info would help.

    you'll probably suggest getting a new clutch.

    Why would I suggest that? You already did it... to the tune of what, 4 grand or so, wasn't it? If you don't want to answer, don't. But don't insult me when I was trying to help.

    5th 6th and 7th because there only a 5mph increase in speed from 1000 to 1500 in those gears for whatever reason. In 8th through 9th gears...theres a 10mph increase in speeds from 1000 rpm to 1500 rpm.

    I'm at 1500 rpm at 65 mph....so at 60/70 mph....i guess the truck is driving. I don't know
