Lost is one thing, but the flashers were going and the gates were coming down. That driver is a first class idiot.

I'm gonna say that isnt exactly so. If you look at the beginning of the video before you hit "start", the driver had a green traffic signal, and his tractor was already on the tracks when the arms start lowering. Its an awkward, time consuming turn, especially in a truck. The railroad flashing red lights are not visible to the truck driver in the direction theyre pointed in. There may or may not have been bells. And it all went to ####.

As a truck driver, you have to watch out for stupid situations or risky maneuvers. If theres any doubts and someones life might be in danger, STOP and figure it out without starting another situation that puts life or property in danger. If you make a wrong turn, or get lost, STOP safely and figure out your next, smart move to make the problem disappear instead of getting on YouTube or whatever.

Part of the problem is that the driver shouldn’t have been there in the first place! That driver more or less bankrupted himself!
    Loss of the trailer
    Loss of the cargo
Damage to railroad property (signals, signs rail infrastructure)
Damage to the train itself (wouldn’t be surprised if it was it was in emergency before impact)
    Cleanup costs (spilled cargo,diesel fuel,debris).
And then of course Villa Rica PD is going to press charges since they’ve literally caught him on camera!!
And we haven’t even gotten to the part where Georgia DOT will investigate!!
Driver might as well turn in his license in general because he’s done!

Bud A., Flat Earth Trucker and speedyk Thank this.

When I worked down there, not running but I worked with those folks, the big worry was log trucks.

Flat Earth Trucker, mjd4277 and Bud A. Thank this.
