Holy !! Wow id much rather haul it in the crates like i have . How often were u replacing straps ? Even with carpet and edge protectors Ive found that if u leave any piece of a strap unprotected against stone it rips so easily. Already lost a couple straps from that happeneing

Maybe one or two straps a week, and it was almost always with the standup loads. With boulders I rarely used edge protection unless the edge was broken and sharp. Steps, regular flagstone, ect just got protection on the corners.

I’m not sure how far your hauling you loads but I was only going 330 miles one way loaded. That was about as far as I could go out and back in a day cab.

Well I probably would have had the guy flip the pallets to the stones are running parallel to the load and go over the top.

I also like your Y idea with teh straps on the front pallet

But failing all that, i'd probably go one over the end like you did and then one thru the middle (where the forks go). If the "box" falls apart the rocks are coming out, one strap isn't going to prevent that. but that pallet isn't coming off my trailer. Just like things that are sitting in a big box (or the loose rocks in the wire cage, the cage is holding the rocks on the pallet, your strap is just holding the pallet down)

FerrissWheel, D.Tibbitt and 650cat425 Thank this.

Don't miss hauling those things. Pita. Around here they double stack them sometimes on trains and multiaxles. smh. Always was waiting for something bad to happen.

Yeah their yard was right off of I-5. They even made a Prostar look cool.
