There is no shortage of legal trucking companies running freight illegally using new CDL drivers like slaves and looking for new drivers who think the grass is greener.

I could only take the abuse for 6 months.
A typical start is at one of the paper product companies in Wisc.

After delivering a load we have already logged 8 hours of driving at 2:00pm.
Then they booked us to drive a shipment 700 miles away.

They book a load time at 3pm, it usually takes us 1-2 hours to arrive at the loading dock and 5 to 10 hours to get loaded, so we are stuck in the waiting area during that time.
So, we already have 8 ours in our log and we have gone beyond the 14 hr limit.
The appointed delivery time is 7:00 the second day. Problem is, we can't legally leave the dock because we are already at 14 hours.
So, we get a short-nights sleep so we can wake up at 3 and drive the whole day.
Their trucks average about 50-55 mph on most routes they send us. If we drive straight through our 10 hour hos, then we have only gone about 550 miles. We are still about 4 hours away, but need to take a required rest.

That means, we can't legally move until we had the break. We have to get up early in the morning around 3pm to deliver at 7pm.
Of course that can be done, but not after you have been out for 3 weeks.

After 3 of those kind of loads in a week, it catches up with you.

Windy Hill dispatchers and owner doesn't understand.

You keep saying "we." Is the "we" part that person holding the gun to your head making you pull those heavy loads and those HOS violations?

Of course no one can "make" a driver violate HOS.

BUT; When a driver for that company actually drives within the law and are late for appointments, the dispatchers have a way of penalizing drivers.

The most common way to do that is to make the driver sit empty for 2 or 3 days.

    They have their ways.

Check DOT website safersys and click SMS Results. That company is cited for an unusual high citations for driver fatigue and HOS violations.

Well that's all fine & dandy but you the driver are responsible for your actions. Not all co's are like this. If this co is doing this garbage then leave them & if you don't then don't complain. You the driver don't have to tolerate this garbage.
